Seven Interesting things about me

Oh Dear. This one can be tricky. Don’t really think there is anything that interesting to tell about me. However, here goes:

  1. I’m Sri Lankan, have a Sri Lankan passport but I don’t speak a word of Sinhalese (native language). I only speak English.
  2. Ever since I was 5, I’ve lived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates
  3. I live with my parents. Saves on rent. Trust me, over here in Dubai, its the way to go.
  4. I sketch, paint and play guitar, but I’m not that good at either. 🙂
  5. I sing, but made a vow never to sing again in public. 😛
  6. I drive an Alfa Romeo 156.. (Some might find that interesting)
  7. I have 3 cats, a dog, 2 pigeons, a hamster and 11 finches.

    First of all, thank you for nominating me for this award. I am very honored that you look at my site, let alone consider it eligible for an award. Here are seven interesting things about me.

    1. I am from Cyprus. The Greek part.
    2. I’ve loved the English language ever since I was a little boy, a language which I know better than my native Greek.
    3. I’ve lived in America (Chicago and New York) and England (London).
    4. I once sent a piece to Margaret Atwood from my blog, My Kingdom For An Audience, and she retweeted it to her followers.
    5. I once sent a piece to Naomi Watts on Mulholland Drive and she retweeted it.
    6. I once sent a piece to Gary Shteyngart, My Kingdom For A Wedding Ring and he retweeted it.
    7. I am in a relationship with the most wonderful person I’ve ever met.

    I think the blogosphere is very important, not to mention revolutionary. Back in the day we could only receive encouragement as writers from jaded editors. But now, with blogs, it is possible to receive encouragement, not to mention feedback, from our peers.
