‘That’s my wife, how dare you’

The article linked is an enlightening read. Tells a shocking tale of a British man and his wife who were jumped at a Supermarket by religious police in Saudi just for allegedly using the wrong line at the supermarket.
Stuff like this makes me sick. It goes directly down the path of religious fanaticism. It makes those who believe in a God look bad. I certainly do not believe in the God of Islam, if He condones such atrocities and moronic behaviour. To be honest, I’m not in the belief that He does.

One thing that I’m thankful for is that there is nothing like that here in Dubai. Do we have religious fanatics here. I suppose we do, but I’ve never seen or witnessed them. Its strange how it seems a night and day difference in between two countries who share a border with each other. Its no wonder that you see so many Saudi’s over here during the weekends. They know that they will not be able to enjoy themselves the way they can here in Dubai.

The grass always seems greener on someone else’s lawn. In this case it certainly isn’t.
