I’m not the best person in the world; I’ve said that hundreds of times. When it comes to anything, I’m flawed just as much as anyone else.
Lately I feel that I’m angry about pretty much everything around me. Not specifically tied to anyone as such, but by just looking and observing situations and events; not just what concerns me, but others as well.
I honestly don’t know what it is that is making me this way. I’ve tried to channel my anger into something that will benefit everyone instead of just releasing my frustrations. I found out that my anger does have an effect on my strength.
The other day, when my car broke down while I was on my way to work, I was so mad that I was able to push the small SUV to side of the road with considerable ease.
So now, when I’m at the gym, I try to think of things that will make me angry to get the strength to push myself harder. 😛
But as the title says, the idea is to be ‘Better’ and not ‘Bitter’. Its a lesson to myself as well.
While we all think we have control over our lives, we only do have it only to a point. There so are so many factors that we do not have control over and while we may not be able to control those things, we can control our reactions to them.
In those situations that upset us, its good advice to keep your calm and rise above. It is easy to say; hard to do.
If you don’t want to be disappointed by anyone or anything, the best idea is to keep your expectations low. Don’t expect too much; especially from people. The less you expect, the less disappointments you’ll face.
Everyone is only human is bound to make a mistake; even the person whom you know will not intentionally fail/hurt you. We’re not infallible machines and so why expect anyone else to be?
Being Better is not saying that you are above everyone. it only says that when someone/situation has given you a choice to lower your standards, you refuse to do so.
And when you feel that you cannot help but get angry and release your frustration, do like what the bible states; “Be angry, but to not sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath.”
Simply means.. Getting angry is Ok.. What you do when you’re angry is what ultimately decides whether you’re Bitter or Better. 🙂
